The East Central Chapter (ECC) of the Nigeria Institute of Food Science and Technology has reinforced its partnership with industry stakeholders through a strategic courtesy visit to Kiuril Gemstone Global Ltd, a leading water packaging company in Umuoji, Anambra State makers of Gemstone Table Water.
The delegation, led by Dr. Innocent Ajawobu the Onitsha Zonal Coordinator, was warmly received by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Chief Nwachukwu Cyril (Ichie Ezenwachinemelu Mayor Global)
During the visit, Dr. Ajawobu expressed the Chapter’s appreciation for the CEO’s continued support and contributions to ECC’s programmes and initiatives. He also formally presented letters of invitation to the upcoming Regional Food Science and Technology Summit (ReFoSTS), highlighting the importance of industry participation in advancing food safety, innovation, and professional development.
In his remarks, Chief Nwachukwu Cyril welcomed the delegation and commended NIFST ECC for its commitment to the growth of food science and technology in the region. He reaffirmed his organization’s readiness to sustain and deepen its collaboration with the Chapter.

The visit underscores NIFST ECC’s ongoing efforts to build strong partnerships between academia, professionals, and industry players, with a shared goal of promoting best practices, quality assurance, and sustainable development in Nigeria’s food sector.
