In his continuous bid to see that the Institute is recognized in the South East, the Chapter Chairman Apst Peter Agbata in company of some Chapter members notable among them was Dr. John Onuora and Prof Charles Ishiwu the Vice Chairman paid a courtesy visit to the South East Zonal Director of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) Dr. Festus Ukadike in his Enugu office.
The Chapter Chairman in his introductory speech welcomed the new Director to the East and emphasized on how the agency can collaborate with the institute to ensure sanity in the Food and Beverage sector.
The Zonal Director who was grateful for the visit also reminded the institute that they are a major team player in the fight against unwholesome practice in the Food and Beverage industry and called on the institute to join the agency to ensuring the right thing is done to ensure food safety.
The highlight of the visit was the presentation of the NIFST portfolio to the Zonal Director by Dr. John Onuora with a letter of collaborative areas and the advocate for staff of the agency to join the institute as registered members.
The team also visited the Enugu State Coordinator of NAFDAC Mr. Collins Ogedegbe who graciously filled the NIFST admission form for membership registration and promised to align with the institute.
